My
dog is so healthy, he’s got a wet nose!
Not necessarily! A wet nose can simply be … a wet nose! And
on the flip side, a dry nose can simply also mean that your pup
has a dry nose. What you should watch out for is any abnormal symptoms
such as prolonged discharges, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
No
Chocolate!
Chocolate
contains an element which is toxic to dogs, called Theobromine.
Even an ounce or two of chocolate can be lethal to a small dog (10
lbs. or less). Larger quantities of chocolate can poison or even
kill a medium or large dog. Dark and unsweetened baking chocolates
are especially dangerous. Symptoms of chocolate poisoning include:
vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, hyperactivity and seizures. During
many holidays such as Christmas, New Year's Day, Easter and Halloween,
chocolate is often accessible to curious dogs, and in some cases,
people unwittingly poison their dogs by offering them chocolate
as a treat.
How
could I snip my puppy’s manhood?!
Actually, because pets only have sex to procreate, they don’t
have the same concept of sexual identity that people do. They won’t
suffer from any sort of complexes due to this small snip.
In
fact, unsprayed females have a higher chance of developing mammary
tumors, uterine infections and cancer. And un neutered males show
higher levels of aggression and often suffer from behavioral problems
and are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer.
Oh No!!!! What did you eat?!
Pets can get into just about anything. If you think your pet has ingested something that they shouldn't and you know that it is not poisonous try feeding them canned pumpkin. It will coat the object and help it on its way thru their system. Obviously, if your pet is exhibiting any signs of discomfort (see the Intestional Obstruction section of Bobbie Lee's section of My Dogs) call contact your vet.
